Dance Teacher (Temporary Role)

Groove Nation is a successful primary school dance provider to NSW Primary Schools and we are looking for an experienced dance teacher from the Central Coast to lead holiday dance programs during the upcoming January School Holidays and primary school dance lessons during Term 1/2 of 2025. This is a fantastic chance to expand your portfolio and gain valuable experience working with an award-winning team.

You will be required to be available between 10am – 3pm on Monday 20th Jan 2025 & between 9am – 3pm on Thursdays and Fridays in Term 2. Term 1 will involve paid training in Sydney (Sutherland Shire) schools with our team.

We provide an amazing, paid training program (details below) to get you up to speed fast, ensuring you’re confident and ready to take on classes. You’ll be supported throughout your training and into your employment by our experienced team. Vacation Care Training:

  • Participate in a Zoom lesson during the January School Holidays to observe a vacation care session.
  • Attend and teach a supervised vacation care lesson in Sydney, where one of our experienced teachers will guide you and provide all necessary equipment.
  • Once trained, you’ll be responsible for leading two vacation care lessons independently on the Central Coast/Hunter Region in January 2025.

Dance Program Training:

  • Travel to Sydney for training sessions in Term 1 2025 (travel costs covered) on Thursdays each week.
  • After training, you’ll take on a 10 week dance program at a primary school on the Central Coast on Thursdays and Fridays.

Our paid training program will fully prepare you to confidently lead both vacation care and dance lessons. You’ll be supported every step of the way by our experienced team, ensuring you’re set up for success from day one.

✅ You have a reliable car, WWC Check and are fully vaccinated to comply with school rules
✅ You love to improve and are open to receiving feedback to support you to grow as an amazing teacher within our brand

✅ You’re happy to travel between multiple schools each day around the Central Coast and between the Central Coast and Sydney for training sessions (travel allowances paid).

Casual Dance Teacher

Our operations have grown exponentially and we have a need for a talented casual Primary School Dance Teacher to join our team.

As a key member of the close-knit team, you will be providing our range of primary school dance programs across schools in the Sutherland Shire, St George, Inner West and Western Sydney areas.

Your love of teaching and ability to engage students with your energetic personality will see opportunities to career development.

This casual position involves travelling between various primary schools Monday – Friday between 8am – 3pm.

  • Teaching a variety of Groove Nation Primary School Dance Programs
  • Project Management across all dance programs
  • Liaising with and supporting schools
  • Have at least 10 years dance training across a variety of styles
  • Have 3+ years experience teaching dance to primary school aged students (either in primary schools or at a dance studio)
  • Are strong in the styles of jazz, musical theatre, contemporary and lyrical
  • Can think ‘outside the box’ to develop storylines/concepts for dances with a range of abilities that are appropriate and impactful for primary school students
  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Have an excellent ability and the confidence to build rapport and interact with clients and staff
  • Take pride in being organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities
  • Have a keen eye for detail, with a high level of accuracy in your work
  • Are self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic with strong time management skills
  • Can problem-solve and think on your feet
  • Have your own car, with a full license and can run errands
