Your child’s dance group will be performing at a variety of events. As such, involvement in the ensemble requires full program commitment and attendance at all scheduled lessons and performances. Your school decides which events the groups participate in .
The school determines which performances each group participates in. Performance dates will be sent home by the school as soon as they have been determined. Please be aware that all performers need to pay for lessons, costumes & possibly transport by bus to and from the performance venue.
After the audition, you will be contacted via email to let you know the outcome. If your child is successful and would like to continue, you will be invited to purchase your child’s lessons.
Payment for lessons (program fees) will be made in one installment, at the time of booking your child’s program (payment isn’t required until after auditions when all dance groups have been confirmed). Please refer to the table below for program fees and cut-off times.
Please ensure your program fees are paid by the due date or your child will be required to forfeit their place in the dance group.
Groove Nation accepts Creative Kids Vouchers. If you have a voucher to use, please:
- Buy your dance group ticket first (pay in full)
- Email us your Creative Kids Voucher
- We will process your voucher and you’ll receive a $50.00 refund into your account
Unfortunately, Active Kids Vouchers cannot be used for any school related activities at all (regardless of whether they are during school or before school hours). Only a Creative Kids Voucher can be used.
We do not offer refunds for change of mind after payment is made. Joining a Dance Group is a full program commitment.
Unfortunately, we cannot refund or make up individual lessons due to illness/injury or holiday. However, if your child is unable to dance for an extended period and you have a doctors certificate, we can offer a refund for lessons not completed and remove them from dance group.
All students who participate in dance groups must also have permission to photograph and film as media is captured at many of the above dance events and festivals by the event organisers.
Giving permission for photos or film of your child for Groove Nation’s marketing purposes is optional (please indicate at time of booking).
Groove Nation is limited by some dance event organisers as to how many students are allowed on stage, therefore, groups are usually capped at 30. We are also limited by how many students can be supervised during outings to performance events by school staff.
If your child misses out on a dance group spot, they may join on a waitlist. It is first in best dressed for non-audition dance groups.
If your child is unsure whether they would like to participate, the audition is a great way for them to try the program. If your child is successful, Program Fees must be paid in full by the third lesson for them to continue.
Groove Nation is CovidSafe – we would not be able to work in schools and remain a registered supplier of the Department of Education without our CovidSafe Plan, Risk Assessment, Insurance and Working with Children Checks.
If there is another lockdown, the decision will be made by your school as to whether or not lessons are offered online. In the case that lessons are offered online, these will continue as normal. If lessons are not continued online, they will be placed on hold and made up at a later date or refunded. As always, we will be guided by and respect the individual schools decision when it comes to this.
